Can You Afford A Divorce?

No one is fully aware of the expense of divorce until they find themselves in the middle of the process. Anyone considering divorce should stop and think about whether or not they can afford it before moving ahead. After all, you don’t go out and buy a new car if the money isn’t in the budget do you? So, why would you take a major step like divorce before considering all the financial implications?

If you decide to move ahead with plans for a divorce be sure to take into account a few things that will affect the cost of your divorce.

I agree with this post and would like to add the importance of working with a financial advisor who is specifically trained in the details of divorce financial matters. Typical CPA’s and Financial Advisors do not usually have the background and training to understand the complicated issues that can come with divorce. That lack of knowledge may cost your dearly in the long run.
