Her latest offering is a book about midlife divorce (Click the Radical Recovery button on the home page), and she is also working on a book about how to be God’s presence in our own messy day-to-day real world.
Suzy was born in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Abilene Christian College (now ACU) in 1964-66. She transferred to the University of Kansas, and then the University of Missouri while her first husband was in medical school, and earned her B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas in 1995.

At present, she is writing and speaking full-time.
Suzy was divorced in 2000 after 33 years of marriage. “I was devastated on so many levels, I can’t even describe them all,” she said. “I was sick at heart about it, and I thought my life would be a sad, weak half-life until I died. But God has used this experience to bring me close to him in a way I never thought possible. This struggle. has brought rewards I could never have imagined.
Suzy is now married to Terry Brown, and they live in Kansas City, Missouri. Suzy has four children. Terry has two, and they have ten (soon to be 11) grandchildren between them. “We have blessings all over the place,” she said. “God is so good, and I realize that, now more than ever.”
