Jon Gosselin of Jon and Kate Plus 8 blames the media for exploiting his children. In an interview that is to air sometime this week, Jon actually said he blames the media for the confusion and chaos that is his children’s lives.
One thing is certain; no one can blame Jon Gosselin for being a logical thinker. Think about it…Jon and Kate had eight children, contracted with TLC to put those children on display for the world to gawk at weekly. After four years of putting his children through the indignity of cameras film potty training and tantrums Jon and Kate decide to divorce.
Since the decision to divorce, Jon has behaved like a 15-year-old boy in a cathouse. He has jumped at every opportunity to give an interview. Has dated multiple women, thrown parties in Vegas and has not once, in my opinion shown any concern for the fact that his children are living through the pain of divorce.
Every action he takes and every word he speaks reflects badly on his children and only subjects them to more attention from the media. Why can’t Jon see that?
Is he caught up in the excitement of being newly single? Is he suffering some emotional crisis that is keeping him from being able to understand the damage he is doing? Is he selfish and uninterested in the pain his actions cause his children?
No one knows why Jon Gosselin does what he does except Jon. One thing I’ve learned through my own experience with divorce and working with those going through a divorce is this…good parents do stupid things and it is ALWAYS the children who pay.
The only good thing to come out of this Three Ring Circus that is the Gosselin divorce is awareness of the destruction angry, irresponsible parents do to their children during the divorce process.
